The dark side of media tech

 Weiner's Fifth Sexting Partner Revealed
Published June 10, 2011

U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner, D-N.Y., arrives for a news conference in New York, Monday, June 6, 2011. After days of denials, a choked-up New York Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner confessed Monday that he tweeted a bulging-underpants photo of himself to a young woman and admitted to "inappropriate" exchanges with six women before and after getting married. The fifth woman in the Weinergate scandal has been identified as Traci Nobles, a Pilates and Zumba instructor who repeatedly referred to the Rep. Anthony Weiner's genitalia in their online chats, the New York Post reported Friday.
"Weiner! Way to stand your ground sexy. Keep it up like I know you can!" Nobles wrote in one message on the New York congressman's Facebook page, the newspaper reported.
"Heart you, heart your passion, and as always, heart your balls!"
Weiner confessed Monday to sending lewd photos and suggestive messages through social media sites to six women over a three-year period. The confession came after Weiner spent a week vigorously lying about accidentally sending a photo of his bulging underwear to all of his Twitter followers that was intended to go only to Gennette Cordova, a 21-year-old college student in Seattle. Weiner had claimed his account was hacked and that he was likely the victim of a prank.
The other women who have come forward are Meagan Broussard, a 26-year-old single mother, Lisa Weiss, a 40-year-old Las Vegas blackjack dealer, and porn star Ginger Lee.
Nobles, a 34-year-old cheerleading coach and gym coach in Athens, Ga., came forward reluctantly after a roommate sent the Las Vegas Sun a screenshot of a private conversation she had with Weiner.
"I really regret that this was sent to you," Nobles told the Sun. "She thought someone should know."

The dark side of media part three

      MUSIC:
The most watched teen network is MTV, where more than 3,000 soft porn images are
broadcasted every week. Study by the RAND corporation demonstrated that:
Teens who watch a lot of sexualized programming are twice as likely to engage in sexual intercourse themselves.
2.      Teens listen to nearly 40 hours of radio a week.
3.      More than 25% of teen-targeted radio segments contain sexual content
4.      42% of top-selling CDs contain sexual content that is “pretty explicit” or “very explicit.”
Hip-hop is not rap! Rapping is style of conveying a message, like singing, humming,
whistling, etc. Hip-hop is a culture, or way of living and governing your life. There is also a style of music that is a part of the hip-hop culture, but it’s not just represented by rap.
5.         The founders and original pioneers of this culture teach that it is a religion.
6.          KRS-ONE and the Temple of Hip Hop teaches that this culture was designed to give
knowledge to self, or to show the Black man himself as god!
7.      He also teaches that we should accept Hip Hop as an organized religion and accept Hip
          Hop's drug of choice, marijuana!
8.      KRS-ONE, the lead prophet of Hip Hop, the originator of Holy Hip Hop and the one that
the Cross Movement holds in high regards even though he denounces the Christ of the
bible states that Hip Hop and rap are 2 totally separate things that exist independently of
          each-other.
9        The following troublesome themes are prominent, in some rock music
10       Advocating and glamorizing abuse of drugs and alcohol.
11.    Pictures and explicit lyrics presenting suicide as an "alternative" or "solution." •
  12.   Graphic violence.
13.    Preoccupation with the occult; songs about satanism and human sacrifice, and the apparent
enactment of these rituals in concerts.
14.   Sex which focuses on controlling sadism, masochism, incest, devaluing women, and violence toward women.

Part two usage of Cell phone

Cell Phone
A 15-year-old Pennsylvania girl is facing child pornography charges for sending nude photos of herself to other kids.
A 19-year-old Florida man got thrown out of college and has to register as a sex offender for 25 years because he sent nude pictures of his girlfriend to other teens.
A recent survey showed that 20 percent of kids under the age of 17 have admitted that they received revealing photos of other kids.
March 6: 18-year-old Jesse Logan took her own life after a nude picture of her was passed around by e-mail.

The dark side of the media technology

I run across certain statistics and thought in it is very important to know them to keep the balance between the advantage of media and the disadvantages. Media usage should be complimented by media education. Let me start with the view of television and its impact on young generation.
Television :
This generation views 16 to 17 hours of television each week and sees on average 14,000 sexual scenes and references each year. That's more than 38 references every day.
The impact of television viewing is so large that even a moderate shift in the sexual content of adolescent TV watching could have a substantial effect on their sexual behavior.”
–Rebecca Collins, a RAND Corporation psychologist who led the study
By the time the average child graduates from high school, he/she will have watched 19,000 hours of TV including about 200,000 sexual acts and 1 million ACTS OF VIOLENCE.
Statistics on Teen pregnancy: Nationally, nearly one million young women under age 20 become pregnant each year. That means close to 2800 teens get pregnant each day.          ( Facts in Brief: Teen Sex and Pregnancy, The Alan Guttmacher Institute, New York, 1996).
Approximately 4 in 10 young women in the U.S. become pregnant at least once before turning 20 years old.  ( Facts in Brief: Teen Sex and Pregnancy, The Alan Guttmacher Institute, New York, 1996).
Millennial’s Sexuality: Every day, 8,000 teenagers in the US become infected by an STD
This year, nearly 3 million teens will become infected.
About one quarter of the nation’s sexually active teens have been infected by an STD.
Every year, approximately one million teenagers become pregnant. (U.S. Center for Disease Control)
In 2000, some 240,000 children were born to girls age 18 or younger.  Nearly all these teenage mothers were unmarried.
More than 1/3 of all teenage pregnancies in the U.S. end in abortion. (C Trends Data Bank)
Average age of first sex: 15.8 years old
Average length of first sexual relationship:3.8 months
24.3% of adolescents report having first sex during the same month as the start of the relationship.
70% of teens ages 13 to 16 know what oral sex is, and more than 6-10 of them say they know at least a few 13-14 year olds who are having oral sex. (NBC and People Magazine)
Each year, approximately three million cases of sexually transmitted diseases are contracted by teens. (U.S. Center for Disease Control)
Teens watch 3-4 hours of TV per day.
Combined with Video games and video movies, teens may spend anywhere from 35-55 hours per week in front of the screen
Wow, that’s a full time job!

Why church need Midea tech?

We live in a world driven by media and technology and the church is no exception to that rule. At church  everything we do unto the Lord should be done with excellence and with the modern day tools of the time and culture in which we live. If God has gifted you with the talent and skills of modern day media technology there is a place for you to minister and serve.

Is that all about perfection and excellence?
